I just installed this in my Cherokee, checked the wiring dozens of times now to ensure it is correct, and ensured the wires actually controlled the locks. For some reason, the transmitter isn't receiving the signal from the remote. Maybe I programmed it incorrectly? I am stumped.
@@redtoaster4859 yeah to me it sounds like either you didn’t program it right or the unit you got is a dud. Not really sure but I would try to reprogram it see if that helps

@@BlackAndBlueGarage harbor freight is your friend
Nah. You just need a vise and a bottle jack or a honking big c-clamp
@@Fulcrum205 big hammer 😜
@@Fulcrum205 true story. They do make dimple does that you don’t have to press as well
@TheBeardedJeeper When I did aircraft structures I had a set that worked with a big pneumatic rivet squeezer. I had some big ones that my machinist friend made for me that were squeezed via a nut and bolt through the center. Those were for special circumstances. I usually just used the floor hydraulic press and regular dies. FYI I would get some Boelube instead of oil. Oil isn't a good lubricant for a low speed, high pressure application like that. If you can find it there is a chart some where (I saw one from 3M years ago) that shows lubricants vs pressure and speed.
Nice man! guess Dirt lifestyle no longer has the monopoly on dimple dies!

Can tell your beard trimmer ran out of charge. On most chargers there is no way to tell when batt is 50% charged. Bah!
@@maryhilton1558 who uses beard trimmers lol. And most batteries have the indicator lights on them so you can tell charge percentage
I run mine till they stop, then fully charge them. Unfortunately, they do sit in the garage all year. I am cautious not to leave then in direct sunlight though.

@@TomBombadil704 😂 I’ve been there
What about the old axles, still have them? Dana 35/44? and ratio? Do you think they’d fit on my YJ? I’m looking for a cheaper option to dealing with the bad differentials that, despite babying, went bad a year ago. Jeep’s been sitting in the driveway ever since.
@@davidvaninwagen9391 I sold them a year or so ago. What’s wrong with them?
@@TheBeardedJeeper Both were rebuilt to 456 ratio at Steve’s in Epping a few years ago, but I think the crush collar on the front was a smidge off and the gears started getting wearing down to the point where I was concerned that they might catastrophically bind up. I’ve also been hearing some noise from the rear diff, so I decided to park the Jeep in the driveway about a year ago and buy a replacement vehicle to daily drive. It’s a hard pill to swallow, considering that I took a loan on the jeep to do the very work that ended up failing. Nothings worse than paying on a vehicle that you can’t drive. We threw thousands at it trying to figure out the steering issue, and even put a new lift on it to no avail. Then I took it down the road and solved the problem for a $150 a local shop. I meant to say TJ in my original post, but I was a bit tired I guess. I owned I white lifted YJ for 9 years in my 20’s.
@@davidvaninwagen9391 how long ago did Steve do the gears? Any warranty on his work? Might be worth bringing into a reputable shop to see if they can at least diagnose what the problem is. I wish I could help but I know squat about gears. I’m gonna teach myself when I re gear the one ton axles. I see axles on FB marketplace a lot too you can check there depending on budget
@@TheBeardedJeeper It’s been at least a few years. I’m pretty sure it’s out of warranty time wise.
@@davidvaninwagen9391 strange and it started happening all of a sudden? Got enough gear oil?

Thanks!
Wow thanks Ken I really appreciate that! Thank you for watching the video
Did not work for me - 2001 TJ trying to remove studs from transfer case. No matter how tight I get the nuts against each other. Also trying to remove studs from a brand new Atlas transfer case to change clocking and will not work - those studs came w loctite. My conclusion is maybe if the studs were previously removed and have no lactate you can get them out this way. You are lucky that it worked for you.
It should work either way. If the lock tight is holding it you can apply some heat to melt it out or help free up any rust.
@@TheBeardedJeeper THe heat worked!! I used a propane torch - it did not take much. Thanks for the tip.
@@Siriusastronomy no problem glad we could get it all figured out for you.
at lease you are trying.
I have gotten a lot better now. Still always room for improvements
It worked! Thank you! Hooked mine up to my portable battery booster.
Awesome glad it worked out
Thank you, this worked for me! My big battery a P05 now is charging. it looks like there are 6 small cells inside the battery so i did touch the red (+) to two separate leads for about a minute each and that was enough to get it to charge using the ryobi charger. (When I charged only the first point it didn't work.). FYI i used a trickle charger 800ma battery tender jr. I used a small piece of speaker wire as my leads. i dont have a voltmeter so i just used 30 second timer and then tried it. Took me 4 tries but it worked.
Awesome glad this worked for you
I hook this up to my Jeep, the module beeps and the key fobs work, but nothing happens to my door locks. It's not locking or unlocking .
Hmm did your door locks work before this? Maybe some of the wires are different depending on the year
On the charger and charging! Thanks for the info. Yup, I believe the disassembly is required to bypass the board, which is what was preventing any charging in the first place. Once the leads were hooked, the charge quickly went from 11V to 17.5V, when I stopped it and plugged it into the charger.
Awesome glad it helped you out
Does it work on vinyl seats too?
Maybe?… I haven’t tried it. I would be worried about it damaging the vinyl but if you were to maybe try it in a small inconspicuous spot first let me know how it works
